The BEST run of good Weather….since last October

A misty start to the day at Allestree Lake.  It is a mist that lingered till well after lunch.  I tend to think that it is the built up moisture from the ground being drawn out by the warmth of the sun.  Yes, another lovely day.   But I do recognise that I am lucky.  Lucky to be able to take the allowed the once a day exercise in such a beautiful location with lots of fresh air and open sky.

It is though hard to get used to the unusual feeling of isolation.  True we do see other folk exercising…but very very few and all keeping a distance from each other….very odd but necessary.

I know that we are privileged and many have nowhere as calm and interesting to exercise, not even a garden….  so for everyone here are a few images from todays walkies with Buster which I hope give you a small taste of the outdoors.

I did say this feeling of  walking alone in such a wide open space felt strange… it does. Even the Lake is quiet, the Ducks and Geese, even the Coot and Moorhen all seem to be in sympathetic isolation.

Weather due to change at the weekend, possibly Sunday.  Much more wintery so we wait to see just how big a swing the weather will deliver. 🙂

Lake and Mountains… a magic mix

Snowdonia

Late evening on the shores of Llyn Padarn, Snowdonia, Gwynedd, North Wales.

Looking up the lake towards the famous Llanberis Pass with the Snowdon massive to the right.  Doesn’t look so high from here but I can assure you its quite a hike to the top. The real name for Mount Snowdon is its Welsh name….  ‘Yr Wyddfa.

It also looks rather quiet and tranquil, not always that way as the Pass and Mountains are a magnet for climbers and tourists most of the year.  But like everywhere else under lockdown right now it will be quiet and peaceful.
