Darley Mill Complex on the River Derwent, Derby
After a yet another night of frost… frost much deeper than we have had all winter, this morning is much more Spring like, maybe even comparable with a summers day. All looks quiet this morning very much different from when these mills were enjoying there Hay days.
The Derwent which for many months this year was a raging torrent is also rather quiet, tranquil even. OK some noise at the Fish Ladder and small weir but nothing compared to the days of the floods….
But beauty isn’t everywhere. One of the buildings in the Mill complex is the old Cotton Works. It has been refurbished and become a rather nice Bistro and Coffee House. Much loved by the owners and well cared for. Sadly in these troubled times, like many places (and indeed some folk) is looking rather sorry for itself.
A New Normal is on the horizon, at the moment it all seems so far away.
Till then…… Lets Smile 😊🙌 and…
