A Calla Lily in the rain.
Nothing surprising about this Calla Lily….apart from the fact that we have it in flower. Just a bit early. Its cousin the wild Arum Lily also known as ‘Lords and Ladies’ has lots of leaf, but as yet no flower spike in its protective sheath.
Despite the rains, the Hypericum flowers are still a magnet for Bees, Wasps, Hover Flies and other insects….. quite a busy spot….
Also venturing out in the rain were a surprising number of folk exercising as instructed.
The sun did produce a very short flash of sunshine but the dark rain clouds were never far away.
Rather glad we had a good helping of summer in May. Maybe it will return before too long. Lets hope so .
