Slapton Ley, Start Bay, The South Hams, Devon
A rather idyllic place on a sunny summers day. Slapton Ley Nature Reserve. The reserve was formed when water was trapped behind the shingle bank of Start Bay. It is the largest freshwater lake in south west England…..being located so close to the sea, only a matter of yards, with just a fragile shingle beach as protection, it form a rather unique habitat. Great place for Bird watchers.
