A Noticeable Change….

A day of mixed weather fortunes.   A very wet morning that appeared to offer little hope for the rest of the day.  But by afternoon the sun came out to play.  It also illuminated some of the early autumn colours….. the autumnal change may well be subtle at the moment but it is happening.

There as also a noticeably different feel to the Park.  As the school term has started, there were no children of any age around…. in fact the Park, by comparison to the recent weeks,  since lockdown was eased, seemed rather strange.  Just the occasional Dog Walker enjoying the free space to roam…

Mid afternoon and the River Derwent looked quite inviting, all it needed was a rowing boat or two to complete what would be a perfect summer afternoon picture…

I guess we can call this a bonus afternoon.

But as always…..

  1. Your autumn colors are dramatic and, for us here, also nostalgic. We’re seeing buds and flowers on some of the dozen trees in our little orchard. Must get out there with the camera soon.

    • I guess we are at that in-between stage…still lots of green about, and after the rains refreshed. But increasing splashes of those colours we associate with autumn. I enjoy autumn but not the darker winter days that follow.
