The Mill Avon, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
I remember well…it was a very, very hot day, a scorching sun, the sort of sun that even with sunglasses on, you still screwed up your eyes. So, this location was a great attraction. Here at the Mill complex, which stands above the Weir, on the river named the Mill Avon, the sound of that falling water had a psychological cooling effect.

Even on the relatively still waters above the weir, in the shadow of the Mill, the Mill pond created a feeling of tranquillity and cool.
I have often been asked, “Is the Mill Avon the River Avon”. Well it is and it isn’t. Just north of Tewkesbury the River Avon flows south towards its merger with the River Severn. But just above the Town, this diversion was created to take waters to power several Mills on the edge of the Town….. so the name Mill Avon was created.
Whatever you are creating or doing…
