Gracing the bridge and stradling the River Burn is the 18th century Water Mill at Burnham Overy, Norfolk.
The Mill itself was built in 1790 but the bridge pre-dates the Mill. The Mill became the centre of a quite large rural industrial complex of stables, blacksmiths workshop and other agricultural trades. All now long gone….but the Mill, which is a National Trust Property, provides some self catering accommodation.
Despite being on a busy road, it is still a rather idyllic location and can conjure up images of an earlier life.
