A rather grand autumnal day yesterday. The sun came out the clouds cleared and the early mist soon lifted. The perfect day to head out to the woods to see if those golden autumn colours have arrived. They have been elusive so far this season. Shipley Woods was the destination, chosen as they are just a little further north to us and also on higher ground.
The tree’s are still full of green leaves, long dark shadows over the woodland floor. But there are some autumnal colours… but also some trees that have been striped bare in the recent winds. We do need a frost to make the big change occur. Gold or not it was still a great day to explore the woods.
Halloween is long gone…… but one Pumpkin in retirement is enjoying both the sun and the view..
His view was rather fitting…. a skeleton 🙂
Autumn will arrive in its own good time… till then…

We do and are so grateful. We moved here as a temporary career move for what we expected to be 2 year period… 43 years later and we are still here. In recent covid lockdown it has been a lifeline. 😃
