The Weeping Window…

A few years ago we were privileged to see, here in our home town, the amazing Weeping Window of Poppies.

A cascade of several thousand poppies, of which these are only a few, cascading from a high window.  Created as a tribute to all who lost their lives, and those damaged, in conflict across the World.  It is a very moving visual art installation and a memory that stays with you long after the display is dismantled, moved on, allowing its message to be shared elsewhere.

Remembrance Sunday ( the nearest Sunday to Armistice Day 11.11.) was first established to recognise the sacrifices made in the First World War.  Now it recognises the tragedies of conflict in so many theatres of was since then.  It is a special Sunday that is marked by acts of Remembrance in every corner of the UK., and across the World, in may different ways…but always at 11am.
