September …….…the end

The 30th September and the end of the month.  And what a month it has been fluctuating from sunshine to rain……and for most of us in the U.K. it has been predominantly rain, which in turn brought floods for many, so definitely a case of ‘water, water everywhere’.

So with that in mind I thought this image would best sum up the month.  The rain filled the rivers and provide some spectacular waterfalls.  These falls are in The English Lake District, Cumbria at Honister Pass on what is normally a tranquil stream called Hause Gill.

We can only wait and see what October will bring.  In theory autumn colours should become the norm but as you can see above the Oak’s are still showing bright green and health leaves and not a hint of the change to come.

May be….well we can hope…that an Indian Summer is on the cards! Fingers crossed.

  1. What a gorgeous shot. Yes, I’m sure winter will set in soon enough. Here in Northern California’s Central Valley, it will be almost 100 degrees again today and for the next couple of days. Definitely no sign of fall color around here!

    1. It has been a very strange year with seasons not being as they usually are. It has had an effect on wildlife mainly on the migratory birds and butterfliy species….some regular visitors have just not been seen. Add to that strange diseases infecting a variety of trees and you have to wonder just what is happening in our world
