I am in a bit of a reflective mood today (well we do come to the end of another year) and I got to wondering just how this little fellow was getting on. We named him Snowy and he had been injured. Luck was on his side and he was rescued and found himself in safe hands at an Owl Sanctuary for treatment and recuperation. He seemed quite placid and at ease with his surroundings and recovering well. It would be some time before they would know if he could return to the wild…..I do hope he did.

Have you contacted the sanctuary, see how he is? They may remember you and be able to say whether he is fine or not 🙂 I imagine he is as Owl Sanctuaries are great places.

They couldn’t identify ‘Snowy’…that was our name for him. But the encouraging news was that most do get to achieve their freedom….so fingers crossed.

A fine fellow, for sure, and I too hope his recovery was complete. While I was in practice in northern Wisconsin, I had occasion to care for many wild animals, and one of the most memorable was a snowy owl (you may recall my post featuring him on May 21). Being really close to one of these beauties is a very rare and unforgettable treat.
