BROCKHAMPTON HALL from the LAWN POND
We have been spending a few days exploring Herefordshire, not an English County that I know that well, so its beauty and history has rather taken us by surprise. Over the next few posts I will try to capture some of the character of the county and its surrounds. In my post last week ( https://davidoakesimages.wordpress.com/2014/10/09/a-break-in-the-weather-2/ ) I took you to the Medieval Brockhampton Manor House. Today please join me on a tour of the rest of the Brockhampton Estate. The Hall above is modern (in comparison to the medieval Manor) dating back to the 18th century, although now a National Trust Property it is leased as a private residence….so no visits inside. Just like its older namesake the House has its own Chapel, Gothic in Style and whilst small it packs plenty of ‘character’

Whilst the Hall may be ‘off limits’ the magnificent Parklands are a joy to explore. The whole estate is set in rolling Down Lands, steep wooded valleys and open farm land. Despite recent rains, winds and colder weather the woods have yet to change into their autumn clothes……

So join me on the tour of the Estate…..
