Over all the years I have visited its character has changed….gone are the dozen upon dozens of fishing boats and with them onshore life. It has seen good times, bad times and now crafting better times once again. Despite that it is still a magical place….just a little different !
Whenever I have been there it has been as a tourist. It was a bustling place full of other tourist like me. That being said I did notice fewer fishing boats. The place that struck me as totally changed was Ft William and area. It is a long time between visits for me so perhaps that area has perked up once again. Scotland is a magical place and I enjoy every visit.
Yep, Fort William, like many of the tourists spots has perked up after a short period of economic decline. I hope economic fortunes and the tourist industry prospers for many years to come. But in truth I tend to head for the wilder remote places and away from folk (though honestly I am not an unsocial person!)….West Highlands and the Torridons is the start point for exploring further north…..Role on next year (-:
I can see why it’s one of your favorite places. I haven’t even been there, and I think I’ll put it on my list, too!
