Scarborough…Seaside, Fish and Chips and Candy Floss

Scarborough, still one of Yorkshires favourite Seaside Resorts…

The largest of Yorkshires many seaside resorts, Scarborough has much to see and admire.

But it is around the old Harbour, a fishing port long before visits to the seaside became fashionable in Victorian days, that much of todays activities occur.

The harbour as fishing ports go has that colourful attraction and activity. But on the waterfront itself much has changed. There are indeed some fine old buildings but most are now occupied by the ‘Penny Bazars’ and Cut Price Clothing shops.

Traditional Seaside kiosks sell the traditional wares of Ice Cream, Candy Floss, Donuts, Shell Fish and of course fried Fish and Chips. Not sure I like todays environment…a little too brash and certainly smelly.

  1. I dream to visit there dear David, seems so beautiful and I am sure I will be so happy to walk in there and to explore the shops, houses, etc. Thank you, love, nia

  2. Scarborough is a favourite of mine. And so close to Hunmanby where my dear friend lives, aged 91. I call her my second mum. She is very special to me. Pity though that bus 118 isn’t going anymore… It had to be the 121.

Not the prettiest of villages in England, but with wonderful and warm, hospitable people.
