Dysart, Firth of Forth, Fife, Scotland
The quiet, idyllic harbour of Dysart. Not always such a calm and quiet location. The town itself was once a Royal Burgh, granted to the town in the 12th century.
It also became an important exporting location for both Salt and Coal. This profitable trade to both the Low Countries and Baltic States across the North Sea, began as early the 15century. Valuable cargoes of minerals continued to be shipped from Dysart through to 1920 when the coal fields declined then closed.
Always strange and hard to visualise the hustle and bustle of industry in this now quiet leisure location…. a different world
No matter where you are…..
