……………….From My Odd Box

Skippool Creek on the Wyre Estuary, Lancashire – as the spring tide falls away.

A few weeks ago I posted an image from my Odd Box of Skippool Creek which seemed to create a good deal of interest.  That image was take at dawn when the Spring Tide was at its highest (https://davidoakesimages.wordpress.com/2015/01/04/from-my-odd-box-2/). It was a morning when I got my feet rather wet “in the name of my art!”.

I also found this image of Skippool hiding in the Odd Box. Taken later in the day when the tide had fallen away it presents a very different atmosphere. Standing there the most striking difference was to the noise that surrounded me….gone is that dawn stillness, now replaced with a mix of melodious and strident calling of waders and gulls, all feeding on the mud flats that are slowly being uncovered providing a morning feast for their probing beaks.

( “THE ODD BOX”. The Odd Box , is especially for Odds and Ends, it is the file where I drop those images, that I have not processed earlier in the year as part of a series or project or simply lacked time at that moment, where they can be safely stored. I can then go back to them at leisure, explore and see what surprises await)
