Seasons Greetings ……..One and All

Christmas-Greetings-Ash-in-Snow

It is the weekend before Christmas and no doubt many of you will be busy with all those pre-holiday preparations.  I just hope it is all not too hectic or stressful and that in the end you and yours enjoy the celebrations you have planned.  But perhaps more importantly I wish you all a Peaceful New Year. Peace is something,  that for some, seems a long way away…but I still hope that common sense will soon apply and indeed peace be something we can all enjoy.

Earlier this month I posted here some of my Victorian Christmas Cards.  I was pleased with the positive feedback and enquires, so here is one more to celebrate this time of Year…….

Carol-Singers

Carol Singers were once a traditional part of the  pre Christmas festivities, very much part of the community sharing the  spirit of goodwill as they went from door to door, entertaining in a simple way in the hope of a little reward of perhaps a few pennies in a hat or simply just a Minced Pie and a cheery Thank You.  They are now few and far between – a shame.

(The above card was published by Raphael Tuck of London, designed in London but printed at their Fine Art works in Bavaria. Date some where between 1890 and 1908)

For our Family each Christmas is special for one reason or another.  This year it is special as it will be our youngest Grandchild’s first Christmas.  Yes, Ewan is now 9 months old, growing fast and now crawling everywhere…..

None to sure who is keeping an eye on who, at the moment Buster likes to keep a close eye on Ewan, he also  is wary of just what Ewan might get up to!

P.S.

Thank you all for your comments over the year.  But also a special thanks to those who thought it worth dropping an email to seek more information or to express more private thoughts….I have really enjoyed reading, replying and I hope in some instances helping folk who are miles away and up until I started the bog complete strangers…..Thank you all.
