It is possible the dry summer that we have had in Central England has resulted in trees with dry and brittle leaves……but it has also meant that before the end of August we are starting to get autumnal colours appearing. It has happened before, but then a dry summer was followed by a wet August that seemed to reset the leaves and allow them to extend Autumn well into November. We will see how autumn 2011 develops.
