Yesterdays picture of a Dunnet Head Lighthouse did seem to appeal to many. So here is another Scottish Lighthouse. This is Neist Lighthouse at Neist Point on the Isle of Skye. The weather was very different on this day with grey skies with just the occasional small bright break…still it provides a little atmosphere.
Neist Point is the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye with great views on a good day over the Minch towards the Western Isles of Harris and Lewis. The lighthouse is reached down a very steep descent, so beware the way back is tough! but the trip well worth the effort.
But for many visitors it is the rocks that are the main attraction. They are closely related to the rocks that form the Giants Causeway in Northern Island and are said to stretch under the sea between these two points……just a Giants Step away!
NEIST is pronounced Neest

stunning photo David, you caught the light house perfectly, the rocks do look look like the causeway. excellent

Thanks for such positive comment. It is a great location and worth the effort, great spot for Whale and Dolphin watching and of course the sea birds. But the coast line is dramatic.

I really like this one! Both are beautiful, but I prefer this one. I’m drawn to how you have composed the blue sky, clouds and rocks in the photo.
