20th March (as this is a leap year) is officially the first day of Spring and to mark the occasion our Camellia buds decided it was high time they burst into life…..![]()
When we planted this bush some 20 years ago the colour of the blooms was a striking Pink Blush. Last year some of the flowers were white with strong pink streaks…..this year you could say it is all white with the occasional pink streak. So no doubt from now on it will be a helter-skelter of spring colours clamouring to be next to steal the show.

Camellia. It is an evergreen shrub that flowers in the spring only. Flowers Reddish/Pink are the most common colours with White a close second. Some varieties are more tree like than shrub. They don’t like frost or rain on the flower heads which quickly turn brown. Hope that helps
