Well I would be if it wasn’t for the excellent work that Gore-Tex and Paramo have been doing in keeping me dry…..though at times the rain has been a deluge and it did feel as if I was soaking.
It isn’t that I don’t know what being soaked to the skin feels like in mid summer. Two years ago we were enjoying a great sunny walk along the North Coast of Scotland when out of nowhere came this sudden thunderstorm. We were on the wide open sands of Dunnet Bay so there was absolutely nowhere to take shelter, result was that we were well and truly soaked, thankfully the camera was safe in my backpack.
Then as quickly as it came the storm passed and the clouds started to clear……….
and IF that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have the above image to remind me of another great location…..no matter what the weather.
This is unbelievably beautiful! A little bit thunderstorm seems to be an absolutely small price to pay for it! 🙂

We felt rather exposed at the time out on this flat open beach with lightning all about…..but it was also a memorable day

This is spectacular, David. That little patch of green in the distant hills gives it that little extra snap that raises its elegance even higher. Well worth the sudden storm, I’d say, and must love Gore-Tex. But the lightning all around must have been a real cause for alarm; I’m very happy that you came through it all ok and are able to share this with us.
