Waiting for Spring…….

The Spring Equinox is nearly upon us and we wait in expectation that Spring will burst upon us, and then no doubt in a rush!    After what has been a few very dark days, this afternoon we have been graced with a little drop of sunshine.  Welcome as it is, the main effect is to emphasis the lack of real growth in the garden.  True there are signs of shoots breaking cover, the odd bulb has burst to provide a colourful sparkle but for the most part it remains dormant awaiting the re-awakening…….

  1. Oh, how I second that emotion! To be able to sit outside in the sun, not bundled up like the Michelin man, with a balmy breeze and blossoms blooming all around–how much longer can it be?

  2. Our weatherforecast almost made me cry: much colder AGAIN next weekend and a lot of wind. Thin wind that goes right through you. Frost during the nights and in the following week more or less the same as right now:cold and some frost during the night and maximum temperatures of between 4 and 6 degrees C. We also heard that the flue epidemic is not going to go away very soon. Mostly because of the cold. Oh I so want to cycle without gloves and ear muffs…
As for the equinox – I hope it will be dry with not too much wind. I will celebrate Ostara in the woods nearby.

  3. lovely soft light David but you will have to wait a little for spring I think – I spend a lot of time watching the weather in the world of Air Traffic Control especially during the snow and ice season – I must admit it feels like forever since warmth crossed my skin.
