It is raining again…..I guess that most folk outside of the U.K. have the impression that those of us on this little island are obsessed with the weather……and you would be correct! After a terrible autumn, winter and spring that has at times seemed continually wet, summer arrived in a blaze of hot sunshine. 2 weeks of blue skies and short sleeves…yippee.
Not a bit of it, for the gardeners amongst us had already started to moan that we needed some rain, far too hot and they had top spend too long each evening watering the plants. Well, they got their way and our summer has temporarily (and I hope it is only a temporary blip) come to and end.

What refreshing photos. All quite beautiful. This weather thing is crazy. We’ve not been able to sit out on our patio because it’s either too hot in the evening, too windy, or too cold.

Yes 😦 been thinking of converting a shopping bag to cover the camera and taking some shots – normally I don’t take the camera out in the rain for fear of ruining it

A number of years ago I bought a purpose made rain coat for the cameras. It fits well, adjusts for different lenses, you can get into the camera for adjustments when shooting and a quick wipe down and its dry. I was also shooting a regular ‘on the water series for a Boating Mag. Sounds a great product…..but guess what I soon move back to good old everyday poly bags and an elastic band….trust me they work far better and are much less cumbersome. But for the most part it is in and out of the bag quickly when it is raining. Good luck.

A lovely series, David! I must say, I never tire of the rain. Even when I lived in Portland, Oregon where it rains a lot! I loved it. Pity that I live in such a barren place now.
