This weeks topic for the Photo Challenge seems to have caught folks imagination with several bloggers posting multiple offerings…so on the basis of the more the merrier here is yet another one……
The North West coast of Scotland is the location perhaps illustrates the quickly changing nature of the weather where dark clouds and rain soon chase away the blue skies and in what seems an instance the sea can whip up into a froth…then equally as quickly it can all become calm again (well for a short while!). The place is Rubh’ Aird an t, Sionnaich and we are looking south towards Assynt and Quinag on the distant horizon….a few miles further north and you reach Cape Wrath the Northern most point of the west coast of Scotland.

This one went straight to friends of mine. Very sincere Scotland lovers, they are. Especially my female friend. She felt instantly at home there. A bit what I have in East Riding. 🙂 Absolutely wondeful photo. I would love to see a calendar with photos like this one.

What a wonderful, wild place! Love how the clouds echo the lichen-covered rocks. Haven’t been to Scotland since student days. My daughter loved her first visit on her honeymoon earlier this year. It’s on my short list!

I don’t know how long ago your last visit was…but not a great deal has changed (thankfully) though the Scottish Government with EU funding have invested in better roads – so you can get about easier in the far north and so explore more.

That would have been about 42 years ago, and the roads weren’t as memorable as my car which was a 15-year old Simca Aronde: The driver’s seat would fall over backwards and the windshield wipers would fall off their posts when it rained. Memorable indeed.
