It was a pleasure to lunch on the patio again, the weather has been very kind to us this summer. The Weather Bureau forecast heavy rains and a big change in temperatures…..they don’t always get it right, but to be on the safe side it is best to enjoy the outdoors whilst we can.
There are still some colour ‘hot spots’ in the garden, these Geraniums insist that summer is going to be with us for awhile longer yet….
At least this little dark corner of the garden will remain just that bit brighter whatever the weather.

Geraniums are such hardy and beautiful plants; they are amongst my favorites. Indian summer is the best time of year to enjoy that last blast of nice weather.

There is a special feel to the summer at this time of the year…we have a wet spell forecast but hopeful that ‘normal service’ will then resume.

Yeah they forecast that here today as well. Although they didn’t forecast the fog that clouted the cars about 40 miles from here.

That was bad …and by all accounts it could have been even worse

The fact that no-one was killed was a bloody miracle. Over 100 cars, and only 68 injuries out of over 200 people.

Hold on to what summer you can–that’s what I’m doing. BTW, don’t folks over there slow down when there’s a heavy fog that impairs safe vision? Just wondering…

Some don’t….. they only know what the accelerator does and when you press down on it automatically turns off the brain. As is always the case a few stupid folk endanger the majority.

Aahh, Summer, bright skies, wonderful weather, getting a tan, enjoying luscious drinks on the patio with sunhat on and an umbrella (to protect Buster), can’t beat it! I love geraniums too, but what are those intriguing delicate little purple things in the background, they look so pretty?

Thanks. The name escapes me at the moment but it belongs to the geranium family, is a hardy border variety and constantly expands each year. Flowers in June normally and has faded by the middle of July. This year we are being blessed with another flowering though the flowers are much smaller than the usual.

Just a further comment about ‘that’ flower you asked about. Still no definitive answer but if you see todays post there is some more of those pink flowers! Just for you.
