There is a chill in the air this morning and a fleece is needed for our walk. As the sun’s arc heads southwards the light has also undergone a change, delivering a warmish early morning glow. But the trees are still endowed with a rich covering of leaves and the lakeside greenery still thick and healthy. Yes, summer is hanging on and very reluctant to give way to autumn……

Well I guess one good frost and a little wind and we will be into autumn…..but until then we will enjoy what ever we get (rain included!)

They tell us that here in the U.K. we have had the hottest, driest and sunniest summer since 2006! Mind you with the history of resent. years that doesn’t say a great deal.

I’m pretty confident that our first frost is still far enough ahead that it won’t concern me actively for quite a while yet. Though when it comes, as come it must, it won’t concern me then either–I’ll be out looking for frost flowers. And it will eliminate the problem of the pesky mosquitoes–what a treat, indeed!
