Cats are pre-programmed to have no capacity for understanding the meaning or the implications of the word “no.” If you say it to a dog, he (or she) will immediately act apologetic, and do anything to get back into your good graces, whether or not he (or she) has any inkling to which recent event one might be referring. Say it to a cat, and he (or she) thinks: “Excuse me, are you talking to me? Surely not, since you’re using that tone of voice. You must be talking to the dog.”
You can guess how much I loved this 🙂 Thank you, love, nia

So well said….as the cat cocks his nose, shakes the head with disdain and carries on regardless!
