IF its going to Rain…then Rain at Night is the Best

LS-3.11-1

Rain has been sweeping across the country over the past few days, some folk have had it bad to say the least. Our Autumnal luck still seems to be holding out. Very considerately  the rains that have come our way are hitting us overnight. Whilst it may have made it wet underfoot the sun still shines to help the autumnal journey along its seasonal way.

Not sure how long our luck will last, but even with a drop in temperature, winter still seems along way off

  1. Tks for the ‘sitting tree’ , David. It’s the new wallpaper here. 🙂
As for rain at night.. this is a Dutch saying when children ask the impossible: “We don’t make Please, please cookies.”
(Lieverkoekjes worden niet gebakken). It’s a bit funny to see it like this, but I am sure you get the idea. 😀
Then again, I too was pleased to find this morning dry and even some sunshine was promised. For the afternoon. Autumn is wonderful.

    1. Not that many berries about this year. It has been a good year for Fruit Farmers and we did have lots of blossom. But be it autumn nuts or berries they are either very small or not there….in our little part of England I have yet to find an acorn. Worrying for small mammals and birds over the winter with a possible shortage of food.

      1. The lack of acorns, berries, nuts and eatable goodies for small mammals and birds will be a concern indeed. Here is hoping you winter is as mild as your fall has been!

  2. Beautiful images and countryside! I grew up in England, I used to love walking in woods like these…we have gorgeous forests too, but they’re different. I miss these.

    1. I know woodlands are not unique to Britain ….but they do seem to have a different feel. Perhaps because they are not on such a large scale as others, a touch of the wild yet more intimate! (-:

    1. After the very dry summer and early autumn many leaves had dried and turned colour…but the majority seemed to thrive, revitalised after being able to have a drink. Looks colourful but it is not the rich reds and golden brown we would normally enjoy…..best not to complain
