Afternoon sun and shadow over Holm Farm, Derbyshire
For the most part November has been a dark and damp month, despite that the trees have managed to grace us with their autumnal glow, adding brightness to an otherwise dull month . As the month draws to a close the trees are for the most part bare. We do love the spring burst of new growth in the woods, followed by the abundance of summers green bounty and then those golden and brown colours of autumn…..now we have those skeletons of trunks and branches thrusting skyward to admire, to stand sentry over the woodlands during the coming winter months….and should there be a few golden leaves left, then that’s a bonus.
So its goodbye November….you ain’t been that bad a month.

What a wonderful collection of autumnal tree images David. I think you’ve captured that feeling of waiting between leaf fall and the first real frosts of winter.
