Another Month Draws to a Close….Time does Fly

February comes to an end, soon Winters woes will be memories…..

The month comes to a sunny end….not that it has been a bad month nor for that matter a bad winter in our small part of the World. Little snow, frost on just a few mornings, average rainfall all spiced up with the occasional spell of wind.

My woods are still very much in winter mode, wizened Oak, wispy Birch, stout Beech and wafting Pines all reaching for the skies above trying to catch as much warmth and sun as they can so they can burst back into live. The Laurel Bushes are showing signs that spring will soon be here….their leaves now sporting that bright ‘spring’ green hue, even some flower spikes are appearing and will soon set seed.

I say ‘My Woods’ but in truth they are not. They are a welcome wild space for everyone, to explore at will. Like me all of the regulars secretly assume possession of this precious space. Some days our paths cross and the walk is cheered by a short chat whilst our dogs play, on other days you can walk and not see a sole….just me, Carla and Buster…Perfect.

For some, this must be a very precious place in their lives and memories….for others this place is to be remembered even when they have past away.

I have no idea who this mini memorial of remembrance is for….but it was obviously a place of very personal significance

and now perpetual peace….

I will still say ‘Good Morning’ to them as I pass.
