Spring that is…….
Daffodils in sheltered gardens may well be spreading their Golden glow………But in the woodlands they are still forcing their way up through last years leaves and early Bramble roots. Despite the harsher conditions a few are now gracing us with their Golden trumpets.
Friends elsewhere in the U.K. are posting images of Spring Blossom but for us in Central England the Blossom is a little way off. Our woodland is doing its best to move forward but you have to look very closely to see any small sign that any leaves are about to push their way out into daylight. Nor do I expect any sudden change as our roller coaster weather has dropped back from yesterdays 16c to a high of 5c at midday.

Gordious…. I went out today in the sunshine but when I reached the wood, the clouds had covered the sun. Nevertheless it was magical again but apart from new green leaves popping out everywhere, there was not a single flower in sight. We miss that real British Spring icon: the Blue Bell. And the sun? The bugger came out again after I returned home… 😀

Our Bluebells are starting to push the green foliage upwards but have yet to fill out and I can see no flower heads in the crowns as yet…..but it cannot be long before we have the blue carpet

It is this year, (Yesterday) and I think we are behind what I would call a normal seasonal transition and certainly behind some other parts of the U.K.. But no doubt it will all turn out right in the end!
