They may only be a few Bluebell Flowers….not even enough to be called a clump let alone a woodland carpet….that has yet to materialise. But few as they may be they are the FIRST this spring.
A weekend of rain and storms (that left some woodland damage) has passed, and now we are left with a magical blue sky and warm sunshine.
Yesterday we had no leaves, today we have leaves bursting through all over the woods. Birch have a green shimmer to them and soon the Beech woods will be darkened by their thick canopy of leaf.
Birds are starting to make nests on the higher branches. It will soon be all change as once more spring will progress at what I guess will be quite a pace.
But the best of all at the moment is just to be able to enjoy the blue sky and the sun…a sun that now has some real warmth about it…even the Golfers were out in force.

Beautiful, David! A real celebration of spring. It certainly feels spring-like today, warm in the sunshine, and only fluffy clouds in the sky. Long may it last!
