Carla basks in the morning sunshine in the shade of a giant Beech….
Yesterday I posted an image of the North side of the wood….so I thought I ought to balance the seasonal change with some shots of the sunny South side of those same woods. The semi transparent spring green leaf of the Beech is now casting its shadow across the woodland floor…..and a very different feel and outlook.
Only small glimpses of the blue of the sky can now be seen. As the canopy thickens the Bluebells start to die back returning to the safety of the earth till next spring revives them once more….So here is a last look as this years display
The Fairy Door….
Do you remember the Fairy Door we discovered last year. The mystery of just who lives behind the No.5 remains…..but for someone it is an important place. Today little gifts of coloured Fir Cones and a Feather have been left on the doorstep…Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies or Goblins who knows. Just one of the woodland mysteries….

Don’t laugh but everyday we pass the door we say “Good morning Fairies” (-:

And so would I. The Little People are playing an important part in Celtic religion and saga’s. So why not greet them when you pass by?
I am sorry to see the Blue Bells go again. The way you describe it: going back into the safety of the Earth, or Mother Earth, is beautiful. Thank you. I love spring woods. They smell so good…
