Mid November and our reservoirs are pretty low…. a summer that has not been either particularly hot nor for that matter wet, yet despite recent heavy and persistent rains the levels are very low for this time of year. One thing is for sure is that its going to need a great deal more water to get back to normal levels.

Though this weekend we have the remains of a hurricane that has crossed the Atlantic which is promising an extra heavy dump of rain over the next few days. It will be interesting to see how quickly it will be before levels are more normal

I guess it will as it (and others ) are a good way down and cover a large area…..but at least we cannot see the plug hole at the bottom so there is some water saved!!!

We have had rain on most of the past 10 days but not what you would describe as heavy or persistent, that of course followed a dry late summer and autumn. Now today you can say that it is raining heavy and the forecast is for more….but even so I guess we have missed the worst of the storms that have been across Scotland. But as you can see the reservoir is a long way down and covers a very large area so topping it up will take awhile

Shortage of water is fact in more places, David. I hope you will get enough rain to fill up again. We hope the same for our rivers:
