A high Spring Tide, frost has quickly melted on an early winters morning along the Wyre Estuary…..all looks calm. Makes a welcome change for this wind and tide swept mooring.

That seems to be the normal situation around these parts, the difference between low/high tide being less than
20 inches. Up North, however, it’s easy 15-20 feet!

This part of the coast has a big difference in tide height at Spring Tides it can be as much as 15ft higher. Given a westerly wind at high tide and it can seem much higher!

Tar very much….Hard to think we will soon be at the winter solstice and in theory start the climb back to lighter days once again
