We may have passed the Solstice but the mornings are, if anything, getting much darker. But at least this morning we had some blue sky and the glow of a low early morning sun.
Will it last…none to sure about that!

On the positive side….it isn’t raining.

You are right, David. De next days (week) sunrise will be even later while sunset will also be later. More light in de evening and less in the morning. It will change from 5th January 2016 when sunset will become earlier and sunset later.

So, do not despair. It will happen. 🙂
Another thing that worries me is the floods. It’s horrid! There must be some tie with England in my blood or something, as I seem to feel connected to England, much more than to Wales, Ireland and Scotland. And in England I feel more strongly about the North than about the South. Although, I will love to visit that area as well one day. Next month, hopefully, a mid week back to Hunmanby. Very costly, as England, or rather: Great Brittain, is exceptionally expensive. But my friend will be 92 on the 30th December and I feel I should go and see her in person again. You never know if it could be the last time. I am so very lucky having found her and her husband back in 1982 near Richmond, Yorkshire. Racing on country roads in the Dales in a Robin Reliant (Yep, 3 wheels :D) it’s the first memory I have of them. Anyway, I worrie for all those people having to leave their houses. And not just in Cumbria but also in York, I heard. Dreadfull all of this. I wish all of them strength and the very best as they need that.

The floods are bad and I guess unless one has been effected, ones home damaged and family treasures destroyed you cannot appreciate the full impact of the tragedy on families. This year the floods are very different to the past. The rain has been exceptionally heavy but in relatively confined areas. Much of the flooding has been upon areas not directly connected to rivers, rain falling on sodden ground with no where to go. Eventually it finds it way to the rivers. The forecasters say more rain is to come towards the weekend but as yet they are not sure where it will fall. At least this time around the flood victims seem to be getting more help than in previous years.
Enjoy your trip to Hunmanby ….could be a bit bleak at this time of the year. As to cost, well we tend to think of Europe being expensive even when we have a good euro/pound exchange rate.

Thanks, David. I recommend the Spring cafe in Hunmanby behind the church. It’s simple but you will get a very warm welcome there. Bleak it may be outside, but it’s never bleak inside. At my friends house it’s never bleak and the Spring cafe is always warm and welcoming. There is a rather good pub accross the road. They serve a warm and harty luncheon but at the Spring cafe you can have lunch as well.
