Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge – Lines and Angles

Lindesfarne-Priory

Lindisfarne Priory, Holy Island, Northumberland

Built over 1400 years ago, without the aid of modern spirit levels or Computer Aided Design, Lindisfarne Priory is a tribute to those early stone masons who could create massif structures of lines, angles and a few curves out of hand hued stone.

      1. I know, went to see the place a very long time ago, but the tide was in and it was a long wait for the road to be open again…we turned round and left. One day!

        1. Gosh…you better not come to the UK then as all our monuments are old and would put you at risk!….. and we have a virtual monopole on castles, abbey’s and churches still standing as testament to the original builders.

  1. Another place to go to… Good thing is that I can do more than just admiring Holy Island (from the main land). I will go and visit Dilston Phisic Gardens and find a affordable place to stay overnight. B&B’s are way to deer. I am hoping for a hostel close to a bus stop or train station as I travel by public transport.
