Christmas is coming… are you prepared

Christmas-greetings
A Victorian Christmas Card, circa 1902, featuring the timeless Holly as decoration and of course delivering an equally timeless message. As Victorian Cards go, this one is rather small, a single flat card measuring 4×3 inches

Now I know that some folk are well organised and have made a head start on writing their cards, I also know that some folk now prefer E-cards and even others who deplore the custom.
Well, I still believe in both the sending and receiving of Christmas Greetings, reaching out and hearing from friends far and wide.
So I will be busy this weekend Writing the Cards…

Writing-the-Cards
Then a trip to the Post Box to send them on their way….

Call it a ritual or maybe a custom…. one I hope will continue for many more years to come…. giving pleasure.
Enjoy your weekend… and as always…

  1. This was/is a wonderful thing and also so precious too for human world. I am thinking as you dear David, everything is being lost in this new world… I also love(d) postmen too… we don’t have then anymore… Thank you, have a nice day and Merry Christmas, Love, nia

  2. I just sat down yesterday and finished preparing my Christmas cards. Got some lovely Christmas stamps and in the mail they will all go tomorrow. It makes me a bit sad that folks don’t send Christmas greetings via mail any longer. An e-card just isn’t the same to me. And I’m truly a “dinosaur” because I also write a Christmas letter to enclose in our cards.
