It is always nice to get back home after a few days away….and nice to see the changes in the garden. Our ‘first flowering’ Clematis was showing no sign of buds anywhere near bursting when we left for Cumbria, but now the first buds have burst into colour…..
….with many more of the delicate blooms to come over the month ahead……Elsewhere in the garden the Acer has made its foray into leaf whilst the rockery is showing splashes of colour. May be spring is here!
The Camellia has done well this year but the winds and rains have taken its toll and only one group of flower heads remain…
But the biggest surprise is an Amaryllis in the conservatory. It had flowered much earlier in the year and we had left it to hibernate till next year. Surprisingly it has thrown up another shoot with a splendid bloom atop of its short but stocky stalk.
