WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: FLEETING

I have mentioned before that the selection of topic for the weekly Photo Challenge has provided plenty of scope for personal interpretation of the brief….and ‘Fleeting’ is no different and can and will mean a great many different things to everyone.

But first I have a confession….as you will soon guess, this image is not mine.  It was possibly taken by my Farther or one of the young men who would eventually become one of my Uncle’s. Secondly another bloggers archive family picture created the thought that I might use this picture (though, as a happy coincidence, I was sorting through the view old family pictures we have for a niece of mine who has started to compile a family tree).

Well here it is.  Taken we guess in 1947 as no date was on the back of this old print.  The picture shows my Grandma (Nana) Sargen.  Behind her are my two big sisters Margaret left and Anne on the right….. with little young me in the foreground.

Why ‘Fleeting’?  well it was a fleeting family moment in time. Fleeting as this moment was, it was the first of only two occasions I met my Nana.  My Grandma on my fathers side of the family I never met.

Margaret, Anne, David and Nana Sargen

I should add that 1947 was just after the WW2, we lived some distance from Nana and in war torn Britain travel was difficult.  So this indeed was a Fleeting moment in time.  Oh, and I still cannot keep long socks up!
