I wish…….

Glass-House

I am not one to envy others property and processions but I do wish that I had a Greenhouse like this one…no doubt someone will tell me it was originally an Orangery.  No matter it is a wonderful place to enjoy the garden when the weather is not that good outside, it catches what little sun there is going and retains the warmth and of course you are out of any rain and wind.

Not that I don’t have a strong constitution but at times it would be nice not to endure the worst our weather can throw at us. It is tough out in the garden, many of our plants  are battling to keep up with the ever changing weather…one week we have record breaking high temperatures….. the next torrential rain and gales.

Our Honeysuckle’s have the potential this year for their best display ever, each bush is just a mass of flower heads.  But as soon as each head bursts the rain or wind whips off the tender petals.  But even so we still have a colourful display and the scent is just fantastic….better than you buy in a bottle!

In other parts of the garden Musk and Cranesbill are now showing with the potential for lots more flowers to come.

Even a lone Wild Dog Rose has chosen to brave the ever changing elements
