Spring is now coming with a rush and green in all its many varieties is the colour that is now much in fashion. Even though the spring bulbs that have provided some ‘hot spots’ of colour are now faded and gone, they are being replaced by the early heralds of a summer garden.
This Salmon Pink Geranium has made a very early appearance, perhaps too early as you can se the steam is tall and very thin as it stretches for the warmth and light of the sun…….
A delicate and very welcome favourite that will remain with us till the end of autumn. Another new arrival for the season is the striking blue of the Cornflower. This is one flower to enjoy whilst it is here, a late spring visitor that will not see the high days of summer………
Saxifrage is also graces us for the spring forming a cream cushion of petals……..
It is also ‘show time’ for the Clematis both the buds and the open flower heads are now starting to cover the fence……….
Down by the lake it is the wild flowers that are creating their own displays. Cowparsley is a mass of white florets, some call this one a weed…. but how can such a delicate flower be called a weed…..
IF only to-days sun will return….if it does we can truly say that Spring is here and that summer will not be far behind.
