Here in the U.K. our summer rains continue, yet another record for rainfall in a month broken and we are only half way through……the forecaster reckon that the Jet Stream, which they blame for these un-seasonal conditions, is starting to move northwards, so with luck we should eventually get some summer weather.
After a bright start to the spring our flowers have been suffering with so many struggling to flower. We normally have a good display of Lilies, but they have reached for the skies but not burst into bloom……that is apart from one clump that has done its best to put on a show for us. So it was a little disappointing this morning to find that overnight heavy rain has broken the stems leaving the flower heads bedraggled on the lawn. So it was out to the rescue with the scissors and then search for a vase and for a little while at least we can still enjoy the blooms……
…….just a little summer on the window sill.
17th JULY
The weather forecast makes me worry… nothing is same as before… BUT your rescue was great, fascinated me. Thank you dear David, love, nia

We can only do what we can with what we have. You are one of the few who do the best with what we have. Keep it up.

Glad you knew who to call….911. Here in the U.K. the ‘experts’ have thought it wise that after using the code 999 since the phone was invented to change it in some areas to 111. But the flowers continue to survive and add a little more colour to the day.
