If I thought yesterday was grey and dull today proved it could get much much darker. We started and ended today with fog…not the sort that is light and wispy but just damp and a dull grey that showed no promising signs of improving. Down by the lake a flock of Gulls took up noisy residence, their cry a rather haunting screech across the water……..
( Honest…this image is in colour not B&W)
Nor were the fields any more comfort, the skeleton of trees looming large from the fog, their grasping tentacles like cloying fingers……
Even under the trees in the woods the fog succeeded in damping and dulling what remained of autumns glow……
The Sweet Chestnut leaves did try to brighten the odd corner and the day..
Nor was there to be any improvement and this afternoon the fog started to once again to wrap all that it could in its grey shroud…….
But I suppose that as this is now the 15th of November we must be thankful that winters frosts and snows have not yet arrived.

amazing mood, like in Ethiopian mountains where you get a feeling to eat a foggy dew very soon

I disagree with what you (hopefully with tongue in cheek) referred to as a lack of improvement–that last shot is really one for the galleries. It looks like a long-lost and lovingly-restored work by one of the Dutch masters, positively classical.
