Not a White Christmas……….

Not a White Christmas for us…….in fact this Christmas will have been a very wet one for many here in the U.K.  Many have lost there homes and belongings to floods and Christmas will have been far from merry for them.

But Boxing Day has brought some temporary relief with day breaking to sunshine…….

Boxing-Day-2012-02162

Dawn this morning the sun returned and lit up the day…… a very welcome break from the dull grey wet days that seemed to be the norm.

Red bark on the Yew positively glows ……….

An Oak leaf becomes a jewel in the morning dew…….

But the fear is that the rain will return, whilst we are very lucky to be high and dry, it is very hard to imagine the devastation others are facing and their fears they have for a return of the flooding.  Surely the rains cannot continue for much longer….we hope not.

Back at home yesterday, young Ewan found the excitement of his first Christmas much to his liking.  It was also an occasion for all three of our grandsons to be under the same roof at the same time  (I should mention that our granddaughters were on Boy Friend Duty elsewhere, so missed out on joining the rouges gallery).  Here is Ewan enjoying the attention of his cousins Martin (23), Matthew (11)……..

  1. What beautiful grandsons! And I know how special it is to round up the troops and have them under one’s roof all at once. We had all of our children and grandchildren here for Christmas Eve which is always an amazing fete, and brings much happiness to our hearts.
I hope you get some relief from the rains, that does sound very serious.

  2. I have seen on the TV that there are some humidity in about your part of the world. Hope you dry up. Anyway, these photos are so nice, as always. Love the last one!!! 😉 Merry Christmas, David!
