At Last……..A Spring Weekend

The forecasters predicted a weekend of sunshine but also plenty of showers….

Well my pine cones told me that we would have a DRY weekend and guess what they were right!!  Not a drop of water fell from what was a gin clear blue sky.  May be there is something in all this old folk law!

A great weekend to be out and about but conscience said that we should really get on with all those jobs in the garden that we have been putting off over the past few months. Not that it was a real chore whilst Sunday was cool Saturday was ‘hot’… yep temperatures of 17c….compared to resent temperatures that was HOT.  Nor can one say it was any hardship to work outdoors in such pleasant surroundings as more plants have now burst into spring colour…

A weekend dominated by Blue and Yellow.  Blue Skies and Yellow Sun paired with Blue and Yellow Flowers.

(P.S. No points for spotting the spider that crept out for a look….did you spot it?)

  1. I have spotted her, after I read she was there. 😀 By the looks of it she is taking a sun bath.

    1. The theory is quoted as follows…..If the Pine Cone is closed it is going to rain – if it is open it is going to be dry! Now I have heard this story since I was a tot and to this day do not know if it means cones on the tree or those that have fallen to the ground. Certainly the ones one the ground do open and close but whether this is a result of weather….well your guess is as good as mine – I like to think so! I hasten to add, not the ones you have brought inside for décor…they are of course all cosy and warm.

  2. It seems we must take the occasional tantalizingly-warm day as it comes, enjoy it while we may, and then settle back in to the other reality. I can’t remember so many false starts in previous years. Sorry to hear that you have another bout of bitter cold. Hang in there!
