There are not many but at least it is a start….once the Bluebells flower we can assume that Spring is here. But I am not sure that we will get the blue carpet of flowers we are used to. Most of the plants seem to be blind, whilst those that have come into flower are rather ‘spindly’. But it is just the start so we will wait to see if the display improves…..
Forget Me Not have self seeded in parts of the wood, escapees from gardens no doubt and they are adding to the spring feel…..
In the garden our favourite spring flower which we call Snowflakes is now showing off its yellow tipped white bells (don’t confuse with the delicate snowdrop, these flowers top a tall steam of 15”)…
Indeed the signs of spring are rushing in with Blossoms and blooms of the season bursting all about…..
There is even new life in the wet area on the edge of the woods where these Marestails have broken cover following their winter slumbers…..
The blossom by the lake is much thicker today and now drapes gracefully to reflect in the waters below…

I’ve never seen your snowflakes or mares’ tails before. How spectacular, and I especially love your treatment of the snowflakes!

I will try to remember to post a shot of the Mares Tails in the autumn when they have grown to their full splendour.
