It’s DARK in the woods to-day

The sun shines bright from a clear blue sky but enter the woods and it is just like turning the light out!  After weeks of waiting the the leaf canopy has burst into life overnight……

The verdant spring green of the leaves sparkle in the bright spring light, at this stage semi-translucent but soon they will block just about all of the light from the woodland floor.

The Bluebells had best make the most of the sunshine whilst they are able before they start their return to hibernation till next spring…such a shame the usual short flowering season is even shorter this year….

But the dapples light is a welcome change from the open bland winter treescape of late….

Down by the Lake it is a very different scene.  Blossom and new leaves sparkles in the calm blue of the waters with just a hint of a ripple from the breeze, a tranquil spring morning to be indulged and enjoyed……

BUT a weather health warning is needed….gales and heavy rains are forecast for this week.
