Wow – lying on your back between the flowers, looking up to the majestic trees and then falling asleep in this spring forest…. Sigh…. 😀

Hello…Fstop was f16. Lens was 24mm on DX format (equivalent to 36mm on FX). Trick is to use the hyper-focal point i.e focusing at a point where for the fstop you are using a large part of the foreground and background are in focus. The depth of field indicator on most lenses gives a clue to this range. That is the theory…. but I find that with shots where the fore ground is dominant and needs to be sharp that I focus a little closer than the hyper-focal point. I think from memory the focus point needed to be about 8meters so I dropped down to just under 6,

I’m only familiar with the hot and stinky garlic fields of Gilroy, California (self-proclaimed garlic capital of the world). Driving up there the end of July for the annual Garlic Festival you can smell the aroma for miles in advance. Garlic ice cream…. yum… I wonder if these wild garlics are edible? They must be an entirely different creature that enjoys cooler climes. Oh, lovely photo!

Yes they are edible…but as it is a wild flower many folk are suspicious. Both the green tops and bulb provide that familiar flavour. The smell in the wild is heady!
