The Lighthouse on the harbour mouth at Anstruther on the Firth of Forth, Scotland. A shot taken back in May when a lengthy sunny spell was about to be broken by a short sharp storm. Originally this image was in colour but I always felt that it lacked the drama of the moment, the colour softened the harshness of what was heading our way. So I hope you like the new interpretation…..for me it is much more in keeping with the mood.

I send the Scottish one on to a friend who is in love with Scotland. I like black&white… much more drama 😉

When I spotted that you had commented on this image I fully expected you to ask me to stop encroaching upon your project territory……but then you may well not consider Anstruther’s lighthouse, being well and truly land based, not one of your true coastal lights

Yes David you have got me trawling (pardon the pun) as it was not a name that came to mind. It is not listed by the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) and was run by the Forth Port Authorities – now is in private hands. It was built in 1880 to mark the breakwater so I will be honest and say I don’t know. I will have to define a line in the sand otherwise it will get confusing. My start point has been the NLB website and then I have broke it down to Scottish Mainland – Islands and those ridiculously difficult to reach lighthouses where I will need to get on a boat.
